Decision infrastructure

Decision Infrastructure

We build the insights hubs, dashboards, conversational BI, and alerts that put answers in front of the people who act on them, from the general manager on a tablet to the C-suite.

What is decision infrastructure?

Decision infrastructure is the layer that puts the right number in front of the right person when they act on it. It combines insights hubs, dashboards, conversational BI, and alerts, so a general manager and an executive each get the view they need.

  • Insights hubs and self-service portals
  • Power BI and embedded analytics
  • Conversational BI that answers questions asked in plain English
  • Real-time alerts and anomaly flags
  • Automated briefings and scheduled reports

What is conversational BI?

Conversational BI lets people ask a question of their business data in plain English and get an answer in seconds, instead of waiting for an analyst to build a report. For a restaurant operator we connected business data to semantic models and built conversational interfaces, and operational leaders now get answers in seconds that used to take days.

Can operations teams and executives see different views of the same data?

Yes. Everyone works from one governed set of numbers, and each role sees the view it needs, from the general manager on a tablet to the executive team. Role-based access controls who can use which data.

Can alerts catch a problem before the monthly report does?

Yes. Real-time alerts and anomaly detection flag problems as they happen and prioritize them for follow-up, instead of waiting for the next report. Results we have delivered include:

  • A restaurant operator catches financial anomalies in near real time instead of weeks later
  • A resort's frontline teams work from real-time intelligence instead of end-of-day reports
  • A health system's clinical and operational leaders moved from weeks to real time on performance reporting

What does a decision platform need underneath it?

A governed data platform with a semantic layer on top, because dashboards and conversational BI are only as good as the data behind them. We design the two together. On a Microsoft Fabric lakehouse we built, a semantic layer supports self-service analytics, and the platform cut data preparation time by over 60%.
